Lockdown / out of lockdown / how do we stay safe?
I think I have had more challenges since we came out of lockdown than I did in lockdown. I find myself questioning things like, should I go to that place now? Or do I really need that? Can I get it online? What are the risks in that environment?
I’ve talked to many of my clients over the last couple of weeks who are all asking the same questions. From these questions, I have started to ask myself how can I provide a safe environment for my clients going forward? My intention for everyone is to expand peoples perspectives about their beliefs around their own movement capabilities. However, in order to progress especially in movement, you have to be in an environment that you feel safe in. Feeling secure sends the right signals to your nervous system allowing the muscles to soften and relax. Often when we have a restriction it creates a holding pattern within the body that alerts our nervous system to contract and be on alert. Without this softening its difficult to reduce restrictions while the system is guarding itself.
So it is with that intention and the responses from my recent survey that I have chosen not to return to my community classes for the current term on a face to face basis. However, I still want to be able to serve you with good intentions and enhance your movement abilities. So that is why I have created Earlypilates online. This is a place where you can be part of a community a place that provides supportive movement workouts using the pilates method and fascia release in addition to echoing my belief that the pilates method is for everybody.
For those of you that don’t know me personally or those of you I haven’t meet through the studio, welcome to Earlypilates online. I am a freelance teacher and educator working in the movement world for 20years. I run a Pilates clinic 2.5 days a week from Blackrock in Dublin Ireland where I mainly work with injured or movement impaired clients. The rest of the time I am an educator at the National Training Center where I lecturer on all things Pilates, teaching Pilates teachers to become teachers.
I love my job and I very much miss the interaction with people I had on a daily basis. During the lockdown, I decided to offer free Pilates Classes open to everybody via my Facebook page. During those 14 weeks, a wonderful community started to follow the LIVE classes regularly. Everyone commented said hello to each other before class and participated together even though they were apart. It was such a wonderful experience to create this community so I have decided to continue with online classes.
You will find all the information you need here about Earlypilates LIVE online classes starting in Sept. I have listened to your feedback and noted the number one request involved FLEXIBILITY in the membership I offered. I have included 3 options for you to choose from. Note the monthly membership has limited numbers available in order for me to deliver a quality class. You can sign up now to ensure you get the option you want plus those that sign up early will receive a recorded class ready to view right now in your welcome email. Live classes will kick off officially Sept 2nd. If you would like to discuss anything further regarding the online membership options enter yourdetails here and ill be in touch.
If these online classes are not the right fit for you right now. I have created a page on my website where I have uploaded some of the LIVE Pilates & Fascia release classes I delivered during the lockdown. You are welcome to share these videos with your friends who would like to start pilates and use them to keep fit and healthy. All videos are suitable for beginners with many modification to support limited movement.
